So Ji Sub gifts gold to 300 'Agent Kim Reactivted' staff members, joins Guam reward vacation after drama's massive success

So Ji Sub has once again shown his appreciation for the cast and crew who worked alongside him on Agent Kim Reactivated.

Following the SBS Friday-Saturday drama's finale with an impressive nationwide viewership rating of 23.0%, the actor expressed his gratitude by gifting gold to the cast and approximately 300 production staff members.

On July 26, posts circulating on social media revealed that So Ji Sub personally presented the gold gifts in custom cases to everyone involved in the production.

Along with the gifts, he reportedly included a heartfelt message that read, "Working on this project brought me great joy and inspiration. Thank you to everyone who quietly gave their best to make 'Agent Kim Reactivated' shine."

This is not the first time So Ji Sub has celebrated a successful project with generous gifts.

After completing filming for the Netflix series 'Mercy for None' last year, he also gave each cast and crew member 3.75 grams of gold.

Speaking in an interview at the time, So Ji Sub explained, "Ever since I started playing lead roles, I've made it a tradition to give gifts. I did the same this time. I gave presents to the actors, managers, and nearly everyone involved."

He continued, "It was my way of thanking everyone for helping us finish filming safely. I wouldn't be here without these people."

The actor added with a smile, "Gold isn't something you can get through sponsorships, so I prepared it sincerely. I also wanted it to be something they could sell and use if times ever became difficult."

According to an exclusive report by Star News on July 27, So Ji Sub will also be joining the drama's reward vacation following its blockbuster success.

The actor, who led 'Agent Kim Reactivated' in the title role, plans to travel to Guam with the cast and production team for a well-deserved break. Unlike in 2013, when he missed the reward trip for SBS's hit drama 'Master's Sun' due to scheduling conflicts, he will participate this time after wrapping up post-finale press interviews and promotional activities.

SBS previously confirmed on July 23 that "some of the cast and key production staff are coordinating their schedules and discussing a small-scale team trip." The network also noted that the atmosphere on set had been exceptionally positive throughout filming. Most of the main cast reportedly attended the wrap party on July 25 and watched the final episode together.

Co-star Yoon Kyung Ho, who portrayed Park Jin Chul, is also expected to join the Guam trip despite a busy filming schedule for upcoming projects. Choi Dae Chul, who played Sung Han Soo, is currently filming ENA's upcoming drama 'Tempting Romance' and is reportedly adjusting his schedule in hopes of participating as well.

'Agent Kim Reactivated' tells the story of an ordinary father who transforms into the world's most dangerous man to rescue his only daughter. The action-revenge drama stars So Ji Sub, Choi Dae Hoon, Yoon Kyung Ho, Son Na Eun, and Joo Sang Wook.

The series surpassed 20% nationwide ratings by its fourth episode and reached a peak of 23.1% with Episode 8, making it the second highest-rated SBS Friday-Saturday drama in history.

The drama also became a global hit.

According to Netflix's official Tudum Top 10 rankings, 'Agent Kim Reactivated' recorded 8.2 million views (calculated by dividing total viewing hours by the runtime) between July 13 and 19, ranking No. 1 among non-English TV series. After reaching the top in its second week, it remained No. 1 for three consecutive weeks.

The series topped Netflix charts in 19 countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Qatar, and Bolivia, while also reaching the Top 10 in 73 countries worldwide.

Although the drama concluded with Episode 10 on July 25, fans will get another chance to revisit the series through two special broadcasts airing on July 31 and August 1. The cast and crew are scheduled to depart for their reward vacation in Guam from August 18 to 21.
