On July 27, Pledis Entertainment posted a notice titled "SEVENTEEN DK and Vernon Military Service Information" on the fan communication platform Weverse.
According to the announcement, DK will enlist as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean Army on September 8. The agency stated that he will complete all of his scheduled activities before his enlistment.

Pledis Entertainment added that while both members will be unable to participate in Seventeen's group activities after beginning their military service, they will continue to connect with fans, known as CARAT, through pre-recorded content.
The agency concluded, "We ask for your continued love and support so that DK and Vernon can fulfill their military duties and return in good health."
Seventeen entered its military enlistment period in 2024. Jeonghan was discharged from alternative military service last month, while Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi are currently serving their mandatory military duties.
