Jun Hyun Moo bowed his head and offered an apology, indirectly addressing the series of controversies involving fellow 'I Live Alone' cast members, including Park Na Rae and Key.

The 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards took place on December 29 at 8:50 PM KST at the MBC Media Center Public Hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Jun Hyun Moo served as host for the eighth consecutive year since 2018, joined by Jang Do Yeon, marking their second time co-hosting together following 2020.

That evening, Jun Hyun Moo received the Entertainer of the Year Award and was also nominated for the grand prize (Daesang).

During his acceptance speech, he indirectly referenced the controversy surrounding Park Na Rae and Key’s departure from 'I Live Alone' amid multiple issues.

While hosting and attending various entertainment awards ceremonies, this is the first time I’ve come with such a heavy and apologetic heart,” Jun Hyun Moo said. “Every year, 'I Live Alone' has been chosen as one of the most beloved variety shows by Koreans. But including myself, I feel we failed to live up to those expectations.” He continued, “This award doesn’t feel purely joyful. I want to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for falling short,” before bowing deeply.

He added, “I don’t see this award as something I earned for doing well, but rather as a message telling me to do better. Next year, I will show a version of myself that everyone can feel comfortable with—one that doesn’t cause discomfort. I also feel apologetic toward the hardworking production staff.

The remarks were widely interpreted as a public expression of accountability amid ongoing scrutiny surrounding the long-running variety show.
