‘Love in the Moonlight’ cast reunites for 10th anniversary special

According to KBS on June 16 KST, a commemorative entertainment program is currently in production to mark a decade since the beloved drama first aired. The broadcast schedule has yet to be finalized.
Actors Park Bo Gum, Kim Yoo Jung, Kwak Dong Yeon, Jinyoung, and Chae Soo Bin, who led the original cast, are reportedly in discussions to appear in the special.
Originally broadcast in August 2016, 'Love in the Moonlight' told the story of Crown Prince Lee Yeong, played by Park Bo Gum, and Hong Ra On, a young woman disguised as a palace eunuch, portrayed by Kim Yoo Jung. The drama was based on a popular web novel of the same name.
The series became one of the biggest K-drama hits of the year, recording a peak nationwide viewership rating of 23.3 percent according to Nielsen Korea. Its success helped cement Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung as one of television’s most beloved on-screen couples.
The drama also launched several cast members into greater stardom and remains one of the most memorable romantic historical dramas of its era.
With the possibility of the original cast reuniting a decade later, anticipation is already building among fans eager to revisit the memories and behind-the-scenes stories from one of KBS’s most iconic series.
