Taeyeon opens up about Japan concert cancellation “It feels like something was stolen”
by Demian09 · allkpopGirls' Generation’s Taeyeon has broken her silence after her solo concerts in Japan were abruptly canceled, sharing her heartbreak and disappointment with fans.
On April 18, Taeyeon reached out to fans on the communication platform Bubble to share some unfortunate news. Her solo concerts in Japan, which were set for April 19 and 20 as part of her 'The TENSE' tour, had to be canceled due to a delay in the arrival of stage equipment.
“I don’t even know what to say,” she wrote. “I’m so worried about S♡NE, and my heart just feels heavy.”
She went on to express her frustration and sadness, saying, “I hate everything about this situation. I feel so sorry to S♡NE. All the hard work and excitement that went into this show—it all disappeared in an instant. It feels like something was stolen from us. I don’t even know how to describe this emptiness and frustration.”
SM Entertainment, her agency, posted an official notice on her Japanese website the day before, explaining that the equipment used for earlier shows in Asia hadn’t made it to Japan in time. This left them with no choice but to cancel the performances.
“Despite our efforts to explore every option, we’ve come to the difficult decision that the concerts cannot go on as planned,” the statement said. “We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the shows, and we’re currently looking into options for rescheduling.”
Taeyeon kicked off her Asia tour in March with a three-night performance in Seoul, followed by successful solo concerts in Manila on March 29 and Jakarta on April 12.
