JYP China, CJ ENM, & Tencent Music Entertainment to launch joint venture ONECEAD
by Sofia-Sayson · allkpopLeading entertainment company CJ ENM announced the establishment of a joint venture with JYP CHINA and Tencent Music Entertainment (TME), aimed at expanding global artist business with a strategic focus on the Greater China market, through NCC Entertainment – a joint venture company formed by JYP Entertainment's Chinese subsidiary and China’s biggest online music platform.
The joint venture, named “ONECEAD,” represents a strategic collaboration combining CJ ENM’s content production expertise with JYP CHINA and TME’s local infrastructure and networks. The partnership will focus on artist development and management, with plans to expand into music production, live events, and merchandise. The name reflects a vision to cultivate next-generation global artists, combining CJ ENM’s core value of “ONLYONE” with JYP Entertainment’s mission as a “Leader in Entertainment.”
ONECEAD marks an important milestone in CJ ENM’s global music business strategy. By working with partners in Greater China, the company aims to build artist businesses that resonate both regionally and globally.
The joint venture’s first project will be managing MODYSSEY, a seven-member debut group formed through Mnet Plus’s original survival program ‘PLANET C: HOME RACE.’ The show, an expansion of Mnet’s global K-pop debut project ‘BOYS II PLANET,’ concluded in late December with millions of fans worldwide voting to select the final lineup – HENGYU, FAN ZHEYI, LI ZIHAO, LYNNLYNN, SUREN, YICHEN, ROWAN.
ONECEAD builds on CJ ENM's success with LAPONE Entertainment in Japan, where artists such as JO1 and INI established strong fandoms not only in Japan but across Asia and beyond, demonstrating CJ ENM’s ability to cultivate local talent with global appeal. ONECEAD applies this proven approach to Greater China, leveraging each company’s strengths to enhance competitiveness and create synergies in the global artist business.
The joint venture also plans to develop a comprehensive music business encompassing artist management, production, touring, and merchandise, to continuously expand artist IP business throughout Greater China and global markets.
