'See You at Work Tomorrow!' tops ratings from premiere, climbing to no. 3 globally on Amazon Prime Video

tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' starring Seo In Guk and Park Ji Hyun has quickly become one of this summer's breakout hits, thanks to its relatable workplace story and compelling romantic chemistry.

The series follows Cha Ji Yoon, a seventh-year office worker stuck in the monotony of corporate life, whose routine is upended when she becomes entangled with her notoriously cold and demanding boss, Kang Si Woo. As the two gradually become indispensable to one another, the drama explores how both work and love can reignite the excitement that had long faded from their lives.

Ratings leader from the very beginning

'See You at Work Tomorrow!' wasted no time establishing itself as a ratings success.

Its premiere earned an average nationwide rating of 4.8%, peaking at 5.9%, while recording an average of 4.8% and a peak of 6.0% in the Seoul metropolitan area.

As positive word of mouth spread, viewership continued to climb. Episode 4 reached an average 5.4% in the metropolitan area with a peak of 6.8%, while posting a nationwide average of 4.5% and a peak of 6.1%. The episode set a new personal best for the series in the Seoul area and ranked No. 1 in its time slot.

Strong global performance

The drama's popularity has extended well beyond South Korea. According to global streaming analytics platform FlixPatrol, 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' ranked No. 3 among non-English TV series on Amazon Prime Video worldwide for the week of June 22-28.

Its universal depiction of workplace stress, personal growth, and romance has resonated with viewers across different cultures, further showcasing the growing global appeal of Korean dramas.

A relatable story for exhausted office workers

One of the drama's biggest strengths is its realism.

The series portrays the everyday struggles of office employees who, despite heartbreak, exhaustion, or emotional burnout, must still wake up the next morning, put on a brave face, and head back to work.

Even after arriving at the office, there's little relief. Harsh criticism from supervisors, endless deadlines, and the pressure to remain professional despite internal frustration paint a familiar picture for many Korean workers.

Whether dealing with difficult colleagues, painful breakups, or relentless workloads, the characters continue pushing forward in hopes of finding small moments of happiness amid their demanding lives.

A romance grounded in reality

Another aspect of success for the series is the slow-burning relationship between Kang Si Woo (played by Seo In Guk) and Cha Ji Yoon (portrayed by Park Ji Hyun). Their opposite personalities create both tension and charm as they navigate life inside the same workplace.

Kang Si Woo is the perfect boss with no personal life. Seo In Guk plays Kang Si Woo, a department manager known for drawing a strict line between work and personal life.

Inside the company, he's nicknamed the "Three-No Man" — No Smile, No People, No Sorry.

Whether a project becomes a massive success or a teammate makes a costly mistake, Si Woo never changes his expression. Rather than raising his voice, he delivers blunt but precise feedback that leaves a lasting impact.

His exceptional work ethic and undeniable talent have propelled him up the corporate ladder without relying on office politics or favoritism. Outside of work, however, his life remains a mystery. Fully aware of his intimidating reputation, Si Woo pays little attention to what others think.

He arrives at the office first, leaves last, and spends weekends alone rather than dating or socializing.

That carefully controlled routine begins to unravel after he unexpectedly encounters Ji Yoon in a convenience store. Seeing her disheveled, carefree appearance catches him completely off guard, causing him to laugh for perhaps the first time in years.

From that moment on, cracks began to form in the emotional walls he had built around himself.

Cha Ji Yoon: A veteran employee everyone can relate to

Park Ji Hyun delivers a relatable performance as Cha Ji Yoon, seamlessly balancing the image of a capable career woman with the ordinary struggles of everyday life.

A senior employee with seven years of experience on the Product Planning Team at Saeum Electronics, Ji Yoon is highly respected for her efficiency and professionalism. She's even willing to take over coworkers' unfinished tasks to help them make personal commitments.

Unlike many workaholics, however, Ji Yoon knows when to clock out.

After years in corporate life, she's learned that sacrificing everything for work isn't the key to long-term success. Instead, she values balance, compromises when necessary, and understands that maintaining professionalism matters more than perfection.

Her peaceful office life is thrown into chaos after being assigned to work under Kang Si Woo, whose every word—and even his silence—makes her increasingly self-conscious.

Away from the office, Ji Yoon transforms completely.

The moment she gets home, she mutes every company group chat notification, postpones household chores as long as possible, changes into her most comfortable clothes, and relaxes with fried chicken and beer.

On especially stressful days, she places a "resignation urge" sticker into a secret notebook. Although monthly credit card bills keep her tied to her job, the notebook is already filled with stickers.

Her dream is simple: once every page is full, she'll finally submit her resignation and leave for Hawaii.

Until then, she enjoys small moments of peace before preparing herself to survive another day at work.

Another standout character

Adding even more charm to the drama is Yoon No Ah, played by Kang Mi Na.

Beautiful, intelligent, and seemingly flawless, No Ah also possesses an unexpectedly clumsy side that creates an endearing contrast with her polished appearance.

For the past seven years, her entire world has revolved around her longtime boyfriend, Gu Won. She calls him immediately after work every day, shares every detail of her life with him, and turns down countless invitations from other men to remain devoted to their relationship.

Despite friends' warning her that excessive devotion could ultimately lead to heartbreak, No Ah remains convinced that marrying Gu Won will solve everything.

That certainty begins to crumble when their seemingly perfect relationship starts showing cracks.

As she struggles with the unexpected changes in her love life, she encounters a mysterious man with striking purple hair, hinting at an entirely new chapter that promises to reshape her future.

Why viewers are connecting

With strong performances across the cast, polished direction, and sharp dialogue that reflects the realities of modern office life, 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' has emerged as one of the year's most relatable Korean dramas.

By contrasting employees' polished "work mode" with their authentic "off mode," the series captures the emotional duality of today's professionals while gradually unfolding a romance that softens even the coldest heart.

'See You at Work Tomorrow!' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM KST on tvN.
