SEVENTEEN becomes first K-pop group to perform at NPR ‘Tiny Desk’
by Minsoo-Kim · allkpopSEVENTEEN has appeared on NPR Music’s signature live series 'Tiny Desk', their agency Pledis Entertainment announced on November 25th KST.
Members Joshua, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino delivered a 30-minute live performance for the ‘SEVENTEEN: Tiny Desk Concert’, released on the NPR Music YouTube channel on November 24th (local time).
Tiny Desk is a live series that highlights an artist’s musicality and vocal performance, with past appearances by global musicians such as Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Billie Eilish, and Sabrina Carpenter. SEVENTEEN became the first K-pop group to perform at the NPR headquarters office in Washington, D.C.
Opening with their hit "Super", SEVENTEEN performed a setlist that showcased their 10-year journey. They delivered powerful performances of "Clap", "HOT", and "SOS", followed by softer and sweeter tracks like "World", "Darl+ing", the refreshing "Rock with you", and the sentimental "Whirlwind". They also accepted an on-the-spot audience request to sing "HBD", and closed the session with an encore of "VERY NICE".
SEVENTEEN shared, “We’re happy to appear on a program we regularly enjoy watching. Since it takes place in an office, we expected a calm atmosphere, but it felt just like a concert. Thank you for the much warmer response than we anticipated.”
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN continues their global tour after completing shows at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium, and five cities across North America. Beginning on the 27th, they will kick off their four-dome tour in Japan.
