BLACKPINK releases all official videos for ‘DEADLINE,’ sells 1.46 million copies in a single day

BLACKPINK returned in record-breaking fashion with their third mini album 'DEADLINE,' selling more than 1.46 million copies on its first day and setting a new benchmark for K-pop girl groups.

On March 1, YG Entertainment announced that 'DEADLINE' recorded 1,461,785 copies sold on February 27, according to Hanteo Chart data. This marks the highest first-day album sales ever achieved by a K-pop girl group.

The album is also performing strongly across global charts. On its release day, 'DEADLINE' reached No. 1 on the iTunes Album Charts in 32 regions, topping the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart.

The official music video for the title track “GO,” released on YouTube the same day, surpassed 27.65 million views as of March 1. It currently ranks No. 1 on YouTube’s Worldwide Trending and Music Trending charts. YG Entertainment stated that BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel, which has over 100 million subscribers, once again demonstrated its unmatched global influence.

'DEADLINE' marks BLACKPINK’s first album in three years and five months since their second full-length album, 'Born Pink,' released in 2022. The title track “GO” showcases BLACKPINK’s signature confidence and powerful energy, highlighted by the lyric, “Blackpink’ll make ya GO.” The song features a strong bass sound and an addictive melody. The five-track mini album also includes the pre-released hardstyle EDM song “JUMP,” the retro hip-hop track “Me and My,” the hopeful anthem “Champion,” and the emotionally expressive “Fxxxboy.”

U.S. music magazine Billboard described “GO” as a song that bursts into a pulsating beat in less than a minute, creating an explosive impact. Meanwhile, business magazine Forbes highlighted the album’s first-day sales of more than 1.46 million copies, noting that BLACKPINK surpassed previous debut-day records set by other leading K-pop girl groups.
