Both the actresses have made their Bollywood debut with superstars. But, only one of them could be famous, the other one failed.
We are talking about sisters, Simple Kapadia and Dimple Kapadia. They made their Bollywood debuts with superstars, Rajesh Khanna and Rishi Kapoor.
However, only Dimple Kapadia achieved fame. She made her Bollywood debut with Raj Kapoor’s blockbuster film Bobby. The movie made Rishi Kapoor a star overnight.
On the other hand, Simple Kapadia made her debut with Anurodh opposite her brother-in-law Rajesh Khanna. She was just 18 at that time.
The actress did many films post that but they failed. Her films did not get good reviews and they failed in terms of box office numbers as well.
Hence, after facing failures, she decided to try her luck in fashion designing and it turned out to be a good decision. She quit acting and shifted her career path. She became a costume designer and collaborated with several actors including, Sunny Deol, Tabu, Amrita Singh, Sridevi, and Priyanka Chopra.
In 1994, she earned the National Award for her costume design in Rudaali. In 2006, another big hurdle came her way. She was diagnosed with cancer but Simple did not stop working. She passed away at the age of 51 in 2009.
