'Akshay Kumar isn't smuggling, selling drugs or gambling': Paresh Rawal backs the star for doing 5 films in a year

Akshay Kumar has always been a busy actor. Unlike other stars, who take years to make one film, he signs multiple projects in a year. Of late, Akshay Kumar has been facing a tough time with his films not doing well at the box office. Yet, the enthusiasm is still in tact with him signing multiple films. His good friend Paresh Rawal has now backed Akshay Kumar's decision. The Hera Pheri actor heaped praises on Akshay Kumar and strongly defended his choice of doing four to five films in a year.

In an chat with Siddharth Kannan, Paresh Rawal spoke about his friendship with Akshay Kumar and mentioned that it is always fun to work with him. He lauded Akshay Kumar's integrity and mentioned that the Khiladi Kumar is not just extremely hardworking but also very honest. "There is no hidden agenda when he converses with you. The integrity is top-notch, and he is a proper family man. It feels nice to talk to him, and be around him," he said.

When asked about Akshay Kumar doing multiple films and it having an effect on the quality of films chosen, Paresh Rawal said that nobody should have a problem with Akshay doing multiple films. He said that a producer would sign an actor only if he/she can account for the money invested and people are going to Akshay Kumar with films. Paresh Rawal also added, "He (Akshay Kumar) just likes to work. He isn’t smuggling, boot-legging, selling drugs, or gambling. He is just working as much as he possibly can. And more importantly, his films are also a source of employment for thousands. Where is the problem?"

Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar have collaborated for films like Hera Pheri, OMG, Bhagam Bhag, De Dana Dhan, Welcome and many more. Reportedly, they are joining hands again for Hera Pheri 3. They will also be sharing the screen space in Priyadarshan's horror comedy Bhoot Bhangla that also stars Tabu.
