The shocking terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam left everyone numb. The terrorists reportedly killed around 28 innocent tourists. Since the incident, social media is abuzz with people expressing angst against the gruesome crime; calling for justice for those deceased. Many Bollywood celebrities like Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and others took to social media to condemn the attack. Amid all of this, upcoming film Abir Gulaal has come under the scanner. Netizens are now calling for a boycott of the film starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), many netizens have commented that the film should not release in India as it stars Pakistani actor - Fawad Khan. The users are questioning the move of India Film Industry members to associate with Pakistani artists amid the strained relationship between both countries. Abir Gulaal is set to hit the screens on May 9 and it has been mired in a controversy since beginning due to its cast. As per reports, film body heads have opposed to Fawad Khan's comeback film. And now, the movie has landed in hot waters again following the Pahalgam terror attack. One of the comments on social media read, "Still in favor of Pakistani actors in Indian cinema? Earlier, post the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, a ban was called on Pakistani artists working in Indian Film Industry following the terror attack in Uri. It is after years that Fawad Khan is returning to Bollywood with Abir Gulaal. The movie is a cross-border love story that is directed by Aarti S. Bagdi. With such strong opposition, it remains to be seen if the film is able to release in theatres on its scheduled date or not.
