Shama Sikander, known for her popular stint on TV, has once again grabbed headlines after she made a huge claim about a superstar. The superstar in question here is Shah Rukh Khan. In an interview, she revealed how actors buy awards at the award functions. She said that actors buying awards is not a recent phenomenon but has been happening for a long time now. The superstar 'buying awards' has been a joke that goes around often in the film industry. But Shama has shared her views on the same.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shama Sikander claimed, “Shah Rukh Khan has publicly accepted buying several awards. It was very honest and daring to say that.” She also mentioned how times have changed, as earlier when an actor used to get an award, it used to be a subject of appreciation. The actress went to add that these award functions are nothing but money-minting businesses. Shama also pointed out how no one really cares about these award functions as celebs go to just pose in their designer wear and do branding.

Further, in this entertainment news, Shah Rukh Khan has himself admitted to bribing the Filmfare jury to purchase the Best Actor award for Baazigar back in the day. Obviously, it was said in a joking way! For the unversed, SRK has more than 300 awards. In an earlier interview with The Guardian, the Pathaan actor said that he has a nine-story office and every floor has some of his awards. He even expressed that he loves receiving awards and is shameless about it.

Well, this is not the first time that Khan has expressed his love for awards. At the recently held 2024 Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards in Mumbai, SRK had said that he is greedy when it comes to receiving awards.

On the work front, the Jawan actor will next be seen onscreen with his daughter, Suhana Khan, in Sujoy Ghosh’s King. The movie also stars Abhishek Bachchan as the villain. Also, the superstar will be seen co-hosting the upcoming International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2024 in Abu Dhabi with Karan Johar.
