by Nikita Thakkar · BollywoodLife.comRam Charan's film Game Changer was the recent big release. The movie that also starred Kiara Advani made it to the theatres on January 10. Given that South films are performing fabulously at the box office, all eyes were on the numbers made by this big-budget film. Though the film did not get a terrific start as compared to Pushpa 2: The Rule, it managed to get an average start. As per the latest reports, the film has made around Rs 96.15 crore in India. However, its worldwide business has called for controversy with Ram Gopal Varma too sharing his thoughts.
Are Game Changer box office number inflated?
Post the release of the film, the makers of Game Changer claimed that the movie made around Rs 186 crore on its opening day with its worldwide collection. This claim did not go down well with trade experts. The makers got called out for allegedly 'inflating' numbers. As per trade site Sacnilk.com, Game Changer made approximately Rs 80 crore of worldwide collection on its first day. The shocking difference of over Rs 100 crore drew flak for the makers.
Ram Gopal Varma too took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) to rant against the makers of Game Changer for allegedly inflating box office numbers. In a sarcastic note, he wrote, "If @ssrajamouli and @SukumarWritings sky rocketed Telugu cinema in real time collections into a fantastically stratospheric heights thereby sending legitimate shock waves into Bollywood, the people behind G C succeeded in proving that the south is much more FANTASTIC in being a FRAUD." He also compared Game Changer and Pushpa 2. His posts have made headlines in entertainment news.
