Here’s a story of two sisters who dreamt of becoming popular Bollywood actresses and made their debut with top actors of the entertainment industry. Even after belonging from the same industry both choose different paths to pursue.
The sisters we are talking about are none other than Dimple Kapadia and Simple Kapadia. Out of the two one became a successful Bollywood actress and the other failed to grab the spot and therefore decided to leave.
Dimple Kapadia and Simple Kapadia both made their Bollywood debut with legendary superstar-Rajesh Khanna and Rishi Kapoor. However, only Dimple was able to make her name in the industry with her acting skills.
Dimple Kapadia made her Bollywood debut with the blockbuster film Bobby alongside Rishi Kapoor. The film won hearts with its captivating storyline and powerful performances. With the success of the film, both Dimple and Rishi became overnight star.
While Simple Kapadia made her entry in the film industry with Anrodh. She made her debut at the age of 18 and worked alongside brother-in-law Rajesh Khanna. The film made a decent performance at the Box office.
After Anirodh, Simple Kapadia had worked in few other films but most of them failed in collecting the expected budget at the box office. Later, she left Bollywood and made a career in the fashion designing world.
Simple Kapadia became a costume designer and collaborated with several top Bollywood stars including Sunny Deol, Tabu, Amrita Singh, Sridevi and Priyanka Chopra. In 1994, she entered the National Award for her costume design in Rudaali.
Simple was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 but she continued to pursue her work and kept herself involved in the world of designing. Unfortunately, in 2009 she passed away at the age of 51.
