Rohit Shetty CONFIRMS Simmba sequel, REVEALS Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff spin-offs in cop universe

Rohit Shetty has some good news for all his fans. Read on to know what updates he has shared about his upcoming films.

Popular director Rohit Shetty has several successful films - Chennai Express, Golmaal, Golmaal Returns, Golmaaal Again!!!, Singham, Singham Returns, Simmba, Sooryavanshi, and Singham Again - to his credit. Such has been the impact of his successful franchises, that his fans want him to introduce more titles. During a recent interaction, the director revealed his upcoming sequels of Simmba and Sooryavanshi. He also spoke at length about Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff's spin-offs in his universe.

Following the success of his recent hit, Singham Again, Rohit Shetty has finally spoken on how his cop universe was formed. During an interview with Game Changers, the filmmaker said that when they did Singham, they had no idea that it'd emerge as a powerful brand. Later, when they started writing the story of Simmba, they decided to turn it into a universe as they were also planning on filming Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi.

When asked about he would take his franchise forward, Rohit revealed, "Simmba ka bhi part 2 hoga, Sooryavanshi bhi aage badhegi. Aur bhi log aaenge. Aur bhi fillmein banengi cop universe mein. So, isliye we created that universe. (Part 2 of Simmba will happen. We also plan to take Sooryavanshi forward. More people will be asked to join. Yes, more films will be made. Hence, we created that cop universe.)"

During the same chat, Shetty revealed that years ago in 2019, when they were busy shooting Sooryavanshi, they had planned to release a multi-starrer film like Singham Again. They knew how they'd introduce new characters and how their stories would shape up.

Interestingly, all actors who joined the 2024 film knew that new actors including Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff, would be given their own journey. "So, it's not just that they are coming for 10-15 minutes and after that they don't have work," he added.

Rohit Shetty's recently film Singham Again, the fifth installment of his cop universe, had featured Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff in key roles.
