On April 23, 2025 Disney+ informed the cast and crew involved in the filming of the OTT platforms original series Knock Off that the production would be paused indefinitely. Earlier, amid the controversy, the platform had already postponed the date of release.
According to industry insiders as reported by Korean media, if Disney+ original series get canceled, the popular actor Kim Soo Hyun might have to pay a penalty fee that may range from 20 to 100 billion KRW which is $15 to $75 million USD.
As per reports, if the Disney+ project gets canceled, Korean stars have to pay a penalty fee. Reportedly, the imposed amount is due to the breach of contract clauses tied to his personal conduct.
