'Harry Potter' TV Series Begins Filming, HBO Debuts First Look Photos!

Dominic McLaughlin transforms into Harry Potter in this first look image from the upcoming Harry Potter television series!

The young actor will take on the titular role of the young wizard in the HBO adaptation.

Also getting a first look photo is How to Train Your Dragon‘s Nick Frost as Hagrid.

In addition four more young actors were just announced to join the cast – Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.

The upcoming TV series will be a “faithful adaptation” and will become a decade-long series, with each season “authentic to the original books,” bringing “Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally.”

Francesca Gardiner serves as writer and executive producer, with Mark Mylod executive producing and directing multiple episodes.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling is also an executive producer on the project.
