Kelly Osbourne Says There’s No Chance of Ever Reconciling with Her Sister Aimee, Who She Thinks Was “Embarrassed” of the Whole Family

Kelly Osbourne has closed the door on ever reconciling with her older sister Aimee. Asked whether she could repair the relationship, Kelly Osbourne answered, “No, no.” Kelly, 41, said the estrangement grew from years of feeling judged and rejected by Aimee, 43.

“I respect her, I accept her, but we’re different, and that’s ok,” Kelly told Paul C Brunson on the We Need To Talk podcast. “If you’re not going to accept me for who I am, and constantly be trying to change me and say horrible things about me, and truly seem to thrive when I’m not doing well, I don’t want you in my life.”

The pair are “polar opposites,” Kelly said, and one of the hardest parts of the rift was feeling that she never had an older sister to guide her. She had to learn by herself what she’d expected a big sister to teach her, she said, which left her with lasting resentment.

Growing up, Kelly said she was close to her younger brother Jack while Aimee rarely acknowledged either of them. She believes Aimee was embarrassed by Kelly, Jack and the rest of the Osbourne family.

Aimee, the eldest child of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, moved out at 16 and chose to stay off the family’s MTV reality series The Osbournes when it premiered in 2002. She later told The Independent that she was still working out who she was amid the chaos of family life and didn’t want that process shown on television. She also wanted to protect herself, her parents and her younger siblings, she said.

Jack, 40, has said much the same, describing himself and Aimee as “not close at all.” He told the Disrespectfully podcast that Aimee wanted to build a private, mysterious identity as a musician and viewed appearing on MTV as riding her family’s coattails. Once the series became a hit, he said, she felt joining it would look like jumping on the bandwagon.

Aimee did reunite with her siblings at Ozzy’s funeral procession after he died at 76 in July 2025. Sharon has said Aimee hated the idea of growing up on camera, and that her decision to leave home at 16 broke her heart.
