Bobby Bones Says Shane Gillis’ Gym Joke on SNL Was ‘So Funny.’

On Sunday’s episode of “25 Whistles with Bobby Bones,” the radio host said he found Shane Gillis‘ monologue “pretty funny” “for the most part.”
“He just kind of goes at it,” Bones, 46, said. “Got to respect that he takes chances up there.”
Gillis, 38, hosted SNL on Saturday and opened his gym routine with: “I haven’t been to the gym in so long, I didn’t realize women just dressed like wh*res now.” He described the shorts as “neon” and “like artificial bait color,” then added, “The wrinkles go around the cheeks and all combine at the butthole.”
Bones focused on the fishing reference. “He said it looks like the color of an artificial bait, artificial lure,” he said. “And I thought that was so funny.”
In a TikTok video that’s since been deleted, Bones said anyone who didn’t understand that joke was “probably not from the South” or had “probably never been fishing.”
Dan Levy addressed Gillis’ description of women on Instagram Sunday. “Women wearing short shorts to the gym does not make them whores,” the “Schitt’s Creek” star said.
“It makes the men calling them whores misogynists. There’s a difference there.” He urged men to “stand up in opposition” to those comments and said they “need to be defending women more.”
Former SNL cast member Ego Nwodim posted from a workout, calling herself a “whore reporting for duty.” Maren Morris posted a Reel giving Gillis the middle finger, with the text “me being a whore at the gym.” Her caption read, “leave my gym short wedgie out of it.”
