Summary

Hikari no Yami officially debuts its SS27 "Chapter 11: Parasite" collection during New York Fashion Week.

Key collaborations highlight upcycled Alpha Industries military outerwear, Vanessa Vun ink-dyed shirtin and 3D-printed ALTER LAB footwear.

Hikari no Yami has made its official debut at New York Fashion Week with its Spring/Sumer 2027 collection, titled “Chapter 11: Parasite.” Following its initial campaign reveal, the full presentation brings founder Jakarie Whitaker’s philosophical vision into full physical form.

The full presentation unveiled the extensive scope of Hikari no Yami’s multi-disciplinary design partnerships. Chief among these is a major outerwear collaboration with Alpha Industries, which saw heritage military silhouettes – including MA-1 flight jackets and field parkas – re-engineered using Whitaker’s zero-waste upcycling techniques.

The presentation also offered a closer look at collaborative, one-off pieces created with Art Director Alex Yarally from deadstock Japanese nylon mesh and silk chiffon, as well as hand-painted Sumi ink shirting developed alongside artist Vanessa Vun. Adding an anatomical dimension to the looks, designer Cierra Calmeise contributed molded resin spines and encapsulated tops, while 3D-printed, digitally manufactured footwear by ALTER LAB anchored the collection’s movement.

Following its NYFW debut, the SS27 “Chapter 11: Parasite” collection will roll out in limited, made-to-order quantities at Dover Street Market Ginza and online at hikarinoyami.com.
