Summary

Bocci debuts the 14 Mirror lighting collection at Paris Art & Design Week.

The hand-applied mirrored finish dynamically oscillates between transparency and reflection.

Milanese duo Cameranesi Pompili introduced the series through a constellation-like installation.

Bocci is expanding one of its best-known lighting families with 14 Mirror, a reflective new treatment for the Vancouver studio’s iconic 14 series. The new lighting fixtures are defined by an oscillating, perceptual relationship between light transmission and environmental reflection. When fully illuminated, the internal light passes straight through the glass, rendering the orb fully transparent.

However, when switched off or dimmed, a mirror effect takes over, turning the ambient light of the room, sunlight, or even a window into an active part of the fixture’s composition. Between these two extremes lies a dynamic gradient condition where the solid glass at once transmits its own glow while softly reflecting its surroundings, creating a fluid visual experience that never quite settles into a single, fixed image.

The new finish is intentionally inconsistent, with subtle variations in opacity created through the hand-application process. Those differences allow each piece to respond uniquely to its environment, with reflections appearing to slide, soften and dissolve across the glass as viewing angles and ambient light change. Bocci co-founder Omer Arbel describes 14 Mirror less as a color than a “condition,” and that idea becomes especially clear in clustered compositions, where the pieces move between luminous glass objects and dark, liquid-like reflective spheres. The treatment will be offered across the existing 14 typologies, including the 14p portable, 14 pendant and 14s sconce, giving the established series a new visual language without abandoning its underlying construction.

To introduce the collection, Bocci has partnered with Milan-based duo Cameranesi Pompili on ORBITAL, a scenographic installation created for Paris Art & Design Week. Presented across four areas inside the Reference Studios apartment, the display treats each 14 Mirror fixture as a small moon, arranging them in constellation-like formations that play with symmetry, doubling, altered perspective and optical illusion.

The collaboration continues Bocci’s earlier work with Valentina Cameranesi on Unexpected Guests, while pushing the studio’s interest in atmosphere and perception into a more reflective direction. 14 Mirror will be available through Bocci across the 14 series, with ORBITAL on view in Paris from October 20 – 21, 2026.
