Horror master Sam Raimi is returning to the director’s chair with Send Help, a psychological survival thriller that twists a corporate feud into a life-or-death nightmare. The official trailer, which just dropped, sets a tone of unsettling black comedy and high-stakes tension. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on January 30, 2026.
The premise centers on a classic workplace rivalry that crash-lands onto a deserted island. Rachel McAdams stars as Linda Liddle, a highly capable but constantly overlooked employee. She is stranded with her detested boss, Bradley Preston, played by Dylan O’Brien, after their plane crashes. As the sole survivors, the two are forced into a reluctant partnership, which quickly evolves into a “battle of wills and wits” for survival.
Raimi was immediately drawn to the script’s dark satire. “The pitch was outrageous and original, all the while tracking these two in their conflict as their power dynamic changed dramatically,” Raimi told Entertainment Weekly. The trailer reveals Linda turning the tables on her injured boss, leveraging her unexpected survivalist skills. This thematic shift highlights a powerful story of female empowerment and the satisfaction of seeing an underestimated person rise to control a situation. With an original score by Danny Elfman, Send Help promises Raimi’s signature mix of chaos and unexpected suspense.
