The Horror Section and Eli Roth are officially serving up a chilling new project with the debut trailer for Ice Cream Man. Bringing his signature bloody aesthetic to an idyllic summer town, Roth’s latest directorial effort explores a terrifying scenario where dessert-seeking kids are transformed into ruthless killers.

The newly released trailer sets a dark and chaotic tone, showcasing a group of children descending into complete madness after interacting with the local ice cream man. Glimpses of the ensuing violence include the kids looming ominously over their sleeping parents, making snow angels in a pool of blood, and holding a woman down as one of them attacks her stomach with an axe. Actor Ari Millen stars as the titular character, leading an ensemble cast that includes Benjamin Byron Davis, Karen Cliche, Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh O’Reilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer, and Charlie Storey.

Behind the camera, Roth co-wrote the script with his longtime collaborator Noah Belson and produced the film alongside Kate Harrison of Cream Productions. Visually, the film relies on striking practical work, featuring intricate prosthetic makeup effects executed by Steve Newburn and Adrien Morot. Setting the auditory backdrop, composer Brandon Roberts provides the original score, while Snoop Dogg contributes additional music to the project. The slasher serves as the inaugural release under The Horror Section, a production company founded by Roth in 2025 to curate horror-centric experiences.

Ice Cream Man releases in August 7 in theaters.
