Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced World of Warcraft: Forever, an expanded version of the original 2004 MMORPG. The title was revealed as the final announcement during the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2026 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Set during the first year of the classic 2004 release, World of Warcraft: Forever—previously referred to online by fans as World of Warcraft Classic+—focuses on world-building and player progression. According to Warcraft chief Holly Longdale, the development team designed the environment to serve as a central character, prioritizing the overall journey of exploration.

At launch, the game will feature three new zones, over 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons, two new raids, and the introduction of the playable Skyborne race. The title maintains a maximum level cap of 60 to mirror the original release structure. Additional franchise announcements from the event included an immediate campaign release for Warcraft 3, alongside long-term reveals for StarCraft and Diablo.

World of Warcraft: Forever is scheduled to officially launch on November 4, 2026.
