Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal Are Back in Action for 'The Accountant 2'

Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal are back to reprise their roles as brothers Christian Wolff and Brax in The Accountant 2. The sequel to the 2016 thriller lands at Amazon MGM Studio and is slated to arrive later this month. The second film of the franchise was first reported in 2021 and was at the time, expected to set up the films to be a part of a trilogy.

According to the synopsis of the film, “Christian Wolff (Affleck) has a talent for solving complex problems. When an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message to ‘find the accountant,’ Wolff is compelled to solve the case. Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, Wolff recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Brax (Bernthal), to help. In partnership with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried.”

Produced by Affleck, Lynette Howell Taylor p.g.a. and Mark Williams, the film is directed by Gavin O’Connor. Affleck and Bernthal star alongside Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson and J.K. Simmons.
