Charlotte Nicdao ‘Grinds All Night’ in ‘Mythic Quest’ Fourth Season Trailer
· Rolling StoneMythic Quest released a trailer for the fourth season of its workplace comedy Wednesday. In the trailer, Rob McElhenney‘s Ian rejoins the office of video gamers, Imani Hakim’s Dana has become the office’s breakout star, and Charlotte Nicdao’s Poppy picks up a love interest. Poppy’s new boyfriend has got her speaking in double entendres, as one employee brings up. “I can grind all night,” Nicdao’s Poppy says in the trailer.
In this season of the Apple TV+ series, video game programmers confront new challenges, including a shifting video game landscape, as stars rise, egos clash, and new relationships bloom.
Cast members Rob McElhenney, Charlotte Nicdao, David Hornsby, Danny Pudi, Ashly Burch, Imani Hakim, Jessie Ennis, and Naomi Ekperigin will return to the workplace comedy for its fourth season. McElhenney created the series with his It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-stars Charlie Day and Megan Ganz.
Burch, who stars as the sitcom’s video game writer Rachel, has voiced characters in games like Borderlands, Life is Strange, and The Last of Us Part II. When speaking with Rolling Stone in 2023, she discussed fan’s sense of ownership over the characters she plays.
“It is inevitably a communal experience,” Burch said. “I remember talking to Rob about when It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia came out. And there’s just this thing — it’s yours until it isn’t. You put all the work in, and then when you release it, that really is for everyone else. You’re creating this for an audience.”
Mythic Quest also plans to release the anthology series Side Quest, with all four episodes releasing on March 26. Side Quest expands the Mythic Quest universe and looks at the impacts the game has on employees, players, and fans. The series will include Mythic Quest stars such as McElhenney along with newcomers Anna Konkle, William Stanford Davis, Bria Samoné Henderson, Rome Flynn, and Leonard Robinson. Mythic Quest will release its first two episodes Jan. 29, followed by a new episode each week.
