Karol G Is Back With Powerful Rallying Cry ‘Latina Foreva’

· Rolling Stone

Karol G is coming in hot. The singer has shared a bold track, “Latina Foreva,” aimed at celebrating the powerful energy of Latina women everywhere. “Now everyone wants a Colombian, a Puerto Rican, a Venezuelan,” Karol confidently sings. Her cultural pride is unwavering as she later declares, “They’re capricious because no one can please them.”

“The song is about all the aspects of being Latina,” Karol tells Rolling Stone. “Our curves, the way we’re the life of the party, and how everyone in the world wants to be with a Latina. I feel like the energy we carry has just been contagious.”

Produced by Venezuelan DJ Mazzarri and Finnish artist Misha, the track features a refreshing blend of early 2000s-inspired reggaeton beats and tantalizing synths perfect for summer. “Latina Foreva” goes out with a bang when it highlights a snippet of Alexa Demie’s hilarious quote: “Why does everyone ask me if I’m Latina, isn’t it obvious?” It also plays around with the classic 2006 hit “Oye Mi Canto” with Nina Sky.

Karol has shared a tongue-in-cheek music video to go along with the track. Directed by Pedro Artola, the visual turns the over-sexualized stereotype that often follows Latina woman on its head. “The video is a sarcastic take about how hot us Latinas are,” Karol says. The video finds the singer and an all-female cast dressed in glittering bikinis and stilettos as they dance in California’s snowy Sierra Nevada peaks. It’s a striking contrast, but Karol and her posse are so hot, they’re defying the freezing temperatures. “For Latinas, it’s really important that we’re always ‘on point’ with our outfits” Karol says. “I wanted that idea to be reflected visually… but the reality is we were freezing to death.”

“Latina Foreva” arrives on the heels of Karol’s documentary Tomorrow Was Beautiful, which was released on Netflix earlier this month. To commemorate the film, Karol shared new song “Milagros,” but “Latina Foreva” marks the singer’s first official single of 2025. Now, it’s bound to be a bichota summer.
