‘Black Mirror’: Lose Your Reality With New Season 7 Trailer

· Rolling Stone

Netflix has shared the mind-bending new trailer for the seventh season of Black Mirror, arriving on the streaming service on April 10.

The trailer, fittingly soundtracked by a distorted rendition of “Dream a Little Dream,” boasts clips from all six episodes, with the unifying theme of AI, VR, and escaping reality. “Lose your mind. Lose your reality,” Netflix said in its brief synopsis, while a character played by Peter Capaldi foreshadows in the trailer, “Your mind is a computer.”

As previously reported, the seventh season will feature a sequel to the beloved Season 4 episode “U.S.S. Callister,” but those aren’t the only characters reentering the Black Mirror universe: The trailer also sees the return of Will Poulter’s Eighties video game programmer Colin Ritman, who met an unfortunate end in the one-off, choose-your-own-adventure episode “Bandersnatch.”

Coulter joins a previously announced Season Seven cast that includes Awkwafina, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Paul Giamatti, Rashida Jones, Billy Magnussen, Cristin Milioti, Chris O’Dowd, Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Jimmi Simpson.

“You can expect a mix of genres and styles,” creator Charlie Brooker previously said of the seventh season. “We’ve got six episodes this time, and two of them are basically feature-length. Some of them are deeply unpleasant, some are quite funny, and some are emotional.”
