Sombr Steps Into the Wild, Wild West in New ‘Homewrecker’ Video
· Rolling StoneOnly a few months have passed since Sombr released I Barely Know Her, and judging from his new single, “Homewrecker,” he now knows her. “I don’t wanna talk down on your lover,” he sings on the upbeat pop song. “I don’t wanna be a homewrecker/I just know I can be better, be better, be better.” All this as he and she “contemplate just one more round of love before you go home to another one.” Talk about moving fast, but it all sounds playful.
In the song’s music video, Sombr (real name Shane Boose) and Quenlin Blackwell, the comedian and content creator best known for the YouTube series Feeding Starving Celebrities, play actors in a Western with undeniable chemistry. Meanwhile, nobody has chemistry with the movie’s volatile director, played by Milo Manheim, an actor who has starred in Disney’s Zombies movie, who constantly needles everyone until it leads to a set-wide showdown. Gus Black, who has helmed clips for Phoebe Bridgers and Laufey, directed the clip.

Sombr performed the I Barely Know Her song “12 to 12” on the Grammy Awards on Sunday, when he was up for the Best New Artist trophy. The award ultimately went to Olivia Dean, but Sombr need not fret as he’s up for two BRIT Awards, including International Song of the Year for “Undressed.” That awards ceremony will take place on Feb. 28. In the weeks leading up to that gig and the weeks after, he’ll be touring Europe.
Currently, his only U.S. dates are festival appearances. He’s slated to perform at both weekends of Coachella in April and at Napa, California’s Bottlerock festival on May 24.
