‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Trailer Teases Travis Kelce, Bad Bunny in Adam Sandler’s Sequel

· Rolling Stone

Adam Sandler is wishing everyone a “Happy Chanukah,” “Merry Christmas,” and a “Happy Gilmore to all!!” in the new sequel trailer to his 1996 golf comedy film Happy Gilmore

The 30-second spot shows Sandler golfing while wearing Happy Gilmore’s trademark Boston Bruins’ jersey and offers a first glimpse of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. The clip also features a return of his past rival Shooter McGavin, played by Christopher McDonald, and hints at another showdown between the duo.

Kelce, who is dating pop superstar Taylor Swift, is one of many high-profile celebrities set to make an appearance in Happy Gilmore 2. “I didn’t even know there was a job opening on Happy Gilmore 2,” Kelce previously said on his New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce. “I’ll be a fucking extra… anything to get around Happy Gilmore, an Adam Sandler film or set — count me in.”

The movie will also feature cameos from Bad Bunny, Eminem, Kid Cudi, Nick Swardson, and Margaret Qualley, while Actor Ben Stiller and Modern Family actress Julie Bowen are returning.

When appearing on The Dan Patrick Show earlier this month, Sandler revealed that Eminem came by the set and shot a day’s worth of scenes. “He’s a great guy and he came in and was funny as hell. I think we just hung out a day with Eminem and he just shot and shot and he was insane,” shared Sandler. “He said a million things we can use and a million that we’re glad we have him on tape.”

The new Happy Gilmore 2 trailer was released on Christmas Day shortly before Kelce and the Chiefs took on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first-ever NFL game streamed on Netflix. Happy Gilmore 2, which is being distributed by the streaming platform Netflix, is set to release next summer.
