Rvssian Taps Rauw Alejandro and Wizkid for Reggaeton and Afrobeats Fusion
· Rolling StoneRvssian is back with yet another Rauw Alejandro collaboration. The multi-platinum Jamaican producer tapped the Puerto Rican star, along with Afrobeats pioneer Wizkid, for “Pongo,” across-cultural jam that fuses reggaeton and Afrobeats.
“I’m a curator who enjoys bringing artists together and unifying different genres,” Rvssian said in a press release. While the producer has worked with Alejandro before, this is his first song with the Nigerian star.
Along with the track, Rvssian also shared a video for “Pongo,” which features all three musicians. Just like the song, the warm-hued video manages to capture the brightness of both Afrobeats and dancehall. In the visual, Alejandro, Wizkid, and Rvssian sing from a large vintage house as their muses dance around them.
