‘Bridgerton’ Goes Full Cinderella in Season 4 Trailer
· Rolling StoneNetflix and Shondaland have a little Christmas gift for Bridgerton fans. On Dec. 25, the streamer dropped the first official trailer for Season 4, Part 1 of the fan-favorite romance series, set to premiere Jan. 29, 2026.
The new trailer spotlights the forbidden love story between the well-to-do Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and a servant, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), unfolding in a very Cinderella-coded way. It opens with a voiceover tracing Benedict’s fate — and how he’ll have to “bow to that most powerful of forces… mothers,” and ultimately, marriage.
From there, the trailer follows Sophie as she convinces her family to allow her to go to a masquerade ball, before scrambling to find the perfect dress and make it home by midnight. At the ball, she crosses paths with Benedict, who pulls her into a dance.
“You are quite the teacher,” she tells him, to which he replies, “You are perhaps the most intriguing person I’ve ever met.”
When the clock strikes midnight, Sophie flees, removing her gown and disappearing. Benedict, determined and with a glove of hers, sets out to find her. “He does not want to find me. He wants to find the lady in the silver gown, and she is not real,” Sophie says as clips play of Benedict searching for her.
The teaser closes with tangled romances, some sex scenes, and almost a kiss between Benedict and Sophie.
As readers of the Bridgerton books and watchers of the first three seasons know, Benedict is the bohemian son of the Bridgerton family, who has been avoiding settling down even as his brothers Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Colin (Luke Newton) found their wives in their own dramatic and thrilling storylines. That all changes at their mother’s masquerade ball, where Benedict meets Sophie.
