Spotify now lets you listen to any track for free

If you're looking for a song, you might be using one of the many music platforms available. Each one has similar features, but one problem some had with Spotify was that free users couldn't listen to a specific track without a shuffled playlist. That's changed with the latest update.

Not limited to just playlists

According to the announcement, Spotify free users can now search for and then listen to any track or song without having to go through a playlist. You can also share the link to a friend, so they can listen to and add the song or track to their playlist. This means non-premium users now get more control over what they can listen to and share.

You can still listen to songs via personal playlists or those put up by Spotify. Free users can also personalise their playlists by adding a cover, viewing song lyrics, or finding new songs via the Discover Weekly tab (in the app). Of course, that doesn't mean the other limitations for free users have been removed; you'll still hear ads and have a limited number of track skips.

Nice QOL for free users

It doesn't sound like much, but the update offers some nice quality-of-life upgrades for free users. Those who can't stand the ads are still encouraged to subscribe to premium or go for another platform (like YouTube Music).
