Ayushmann Khurrana addressed the chatter around Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, allegedly promoting infidelity after the trailer launch event. The film, which also stars Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi, was unveiled at a grand event, where Ayushmann clarified its intent amid the ongoing discussion.

Speaking at the event, the actor said the film does not endorse infidelity and described it as a family entertainer built around comedy and situational humour. He added that the director, Mudassar.Aziz has given a fresh spin to a classic narrative.

Ayushmann responds to criticism

Addressing the criticism around Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, Ayushmann said the intention of the film was not to promote infidelity. He said the film goes beyond a typical rom-com and leans more towards comedy and situational humour.

Responding directly to the concerns, he said, "We are not promoting infidelity because it’s a family film. Everyone will enjoy watching this film; it’s a comedy of errors."

He reiterated that the film is designed as a family entertainer and a comedy of errors, with the focus on chaotic situations rather than making any statement about relationships.

What he said about the film’s family appeal

Speaking about his own choices as a family man, Ayushmann said he prefers working on films that his children can watch. He added that he took them to the edit suite during post-production and said their positive response reassured him that the film works as a wholesome family entertainer.

About the film

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a sequel to the 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh. Mudassar Aziz, who directed the original film, has also helmed the follow-up. The first film starred Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in the lead roles.

The sequel was initially planned for a Holi 2026 release but has since been rescheduled. The makers have confirmed that the film will release in theatres on May 15.
