Dhanush announces Idly Kadai release date with a special poster

Dhanush, who acted and helmed Idly Kadai, announced the film's release date with a poster. The film was earlier scheduled to release on April 10.

Dhanush, actor and director of his upcoming film, 'Idly Kadai', announced the release date of his film with a new poster. The poster features the actor in a crisp shirt and dhoti, dancing with a group of people in a festival-like set-up. Earlier, the film was slated for a grand release on April 10, clashing with Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly. However, it was later postponed to avoid box-office clash.

On April 4, Dhanush shared a poster of the film and announced that it will release in theatres on October 1. He captioned the post, "Idli Kadai #oct1 (sic)."

'Idly Kadai' is the fourth directorial from Dhanush after 'Pa Paandi', 'Raayan' and 'Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam'. Apart from directing 'Idly Kadai', he also plays a pivotal role in the film.

The film is tipped to be an rural-based emotional drama, which marks the reunion of the 'Thiruchitrambalam' duo, Dhanush and Nithya Menen. Their previous film fetched a National Award for Nithya Menen.

'Idly Kadai' features Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Prakash Raj and Rajkiran in lead roles. Jointly produced by Wunderbar Films and Dawn Pictures, the film is distributed by Red Giant Movies.
