Actor Aamir Khan's sister, Nikhat Hegde, on Friday shared a heartfelt birthday note for her superstar brother. She also wished him well in his new relationship with Gauri Spratt. Khan's sister spoke to ETimes and said, "I am very happy for both of them and wish them happiness always."
Hegde, who's Khan's elder sister, recalled her growing up days with her brother. She mentioned how Aamir Khan was a smart, stubborn teenager. She remembered how their father would make him walk to school despite the family owning a car.
"All of us are growing old, so obviously, he will grow too. But OMG, when one looks back at all the years gone by, there are so many wonderful memories," she wrote, adding, "I remember the days when, as kids, both Aamir and Faisal went to school in their school uniforms, waking up early and walking to school."
Hegde narrated the time when Khan insisted on driving the car himself. "Aamir was quite stubborn as a teenager. I remember we had just learnt to drive, and when we found the car free, we both wanted to go out for a drive. We rushed to see who would get in first to drive. Aamir was smart - he got the keys while I got the driver's seat (sic)."
The proud sister mentioned all the fan calls that Khan would get with his rise in the movies. "It was such a happy feeling, making us all proud of our brother," she wrote.
Nikhat Hegde concluded the letter by sending her best wishes and love to her 60-year-old brother, and shared that he deserves every bit of all this happiness.
On Thursday, during a meet-and-greet with the media, Khan introduced his friend-turned-partner, Gauri Spratt, and revealed that they have been living together.
