The trailer of DC is here, offering a closer look at the world of crime, romance and revenge that awaits audiences. Headlined by filmmaker-turned-actor Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi, the Tamil romantic action thriller is set to release in theatres on August 7. Dharma Productions will distribute the film across the Hindi-speaking markets in North India.
Backed by Sun Pictures and directed by Arun Matheswaran, DC marks a significant milestone for Lokesh Kanagaraj as he takes on his first lead acting role. The trailer builds on the gritty tone established in the teaser, placing a tragic love story at the heart of a violent gangster drama.
Lokesh plays Devadas, a man haunted by his past and pursued by the law. Wamiqa Gabbi stars as Chandra, whose life changes after crossing paths with him. As enemies close in, the two find themselves caught in a dangerous world where love, betrayal and survival go hand in hand.

Known for films such as Rocky, Saani Kaayidham and Captain Miller, Arun Matheswaran directs the film, blending intense action with emotional storytelling. The trailer offers glimpses of stylised action, emotionally charged moments and a crime-ridden landscape that shapes the journey of its lead characters.
The film also features Sanjana Krishnamoorthy in a pivotal role as Parvathi. The additional screenplay is by Arun Ranjan, while dialogues have been written by Arun Matheswaran and Franklin Jacob. Mukesh G has handled cinematography, with editing by G K Prasanna.
Music for DC has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film features a 15-track soundtrack that moves between melodic compositions and high-energy numbers, complementing both its emotional and action-driven moments.
Sun Pictures, known for backing films such as Jailer, Beast, Annaatthe and Sarkar, is producing the project. With the trailer now out, DC heads towards its August 7 theatrical release, bringing together Lokesh Kanagaraj, Wamiqa Gabbi and Arun Matheswaran for a story that unfolds against the backdrop of crime, love and survival.
