Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi visit Netaji Bhawan during Batwara 1947 promotions

Actor Sunny Deol and director Rajkumar Santoshi visited Netaji Bhawan in Kolkata while promoting Batwara 1947. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grandnewphew Sugata Bose toured them around the memorial and called the film a beautiful one.

Actor Sunny Deol and director Rajkumar Santoshi visited Netaji Bhawan in Kolkata during the promotions of Batwara 1947, the upcoming Aamir Khan Productions film set against the backdrop of Partition. During the visit, they met Sugata Bose, grandnephew of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

As part of the promotional journey for Batwara 1947 across the country, Deol and Santoshi reached Kolkata and visited Netaji Bhawan. They were seen exploring the site and revisiting memories of India's past during the visit.

They also met Sugata Bose, who gave them a tour of Netaji Bhawan and wished the film well, calling it "a beautiful film". Deol later shared videos from the visit and the meeting on his Instagram stories.

In one of the videos, he wrote, "Thank you Sugata Bose ji for your kind words and wishes for #Batwara1947 (sic)." While sharing another clip from the visit, the actor added, "A glimpse into history, history with Sugata Bose grandnephew of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose (sic)."

Batwara 1947 features actors Shabana Azmi, Sunny Deol, and Preity Zinta in key roles and has generated significant buzz following the release of its teasers, music, and trailer. Set during a turbulent chapter in the history of the Subcontinent, the film revolves around themes of humanity, compassion, and courage.

The Partition-era drama also features Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh, and marks the reunion of director Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol after nearly three decades.

The music for the film is composed by AR Rahman with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. It is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on Partition Day, August 14, 2026.
