Thalapathy Vijay's son debuts as director with film starring Sundeep Kishan

Thalapathy Vijay's son, Jason Sanjay, is all set to make his debut as a director. The film, bankrolled by Lyca Productions, will feature Sundeep Kishan in the lead role.

Jason Sanjay, son of actor-politician Thalapathy Vijay, is set to make his directorial debut under Lyca Productions banner.

The announcement marks a significant milestone for Jason Sanjay, as he ventures into the Tamil film industry. In the announcement video on Lyca Productions’ official YouTube channel, it was revealed that Jason’s debut will feature Sundeep Kishan in the lead role, with music composed by Thaman S.

The announcement video was intriguing, featuring numerous elements throughout its one-minute runtime. The highlight of the video is the director and hero seats being taken by Jason Sanjay and Sundeep Kishan, respectively, accompanied by Thaman’s captivating music in the background.

While the collaboration between the young director and Lyca Productions was initially announced in 2023, the project faced a year-long delay before being officially unveiled. Presented by Subaskaran, the project has been tentatively titled Jason Sanjay 01.

Jason Sanjay’s entry into cinema has already generated buzz, given his lineage. He pursued a Film Production Diploma at Toronto Film School (2018-2020), followed by a BA (Hons) in Screenwriting in London between 2020-2022. Jason, has till now, made a short film called, Pull The Trigger.

GKM Tamil Kumaran of Lyca Productions in a press release mentioned, “When Jason Sanjay presented the narrative, we felt something fresh and most importantly, it had the USP of drawing Pan-Indian attention.” Sundeep Kishan also shared the news of his collaboration with Jason Sanjay.

Sundeep Kishan was last seen in Dhanush’s Raayan which released in theatres on July 26, 2024.

While the announcement video revealed that the film will go on floors soon, the rest of the cast and crew is yet to be announced.
