Taylor Swift returned to Arrowhead Stadium for the Kansas City Chiefs' season opener and spent part of the game chatting with Tom Cruise. The appearance put the focus on her support for Travis Kelce as he began his 14th NFL season after their July wedding.

Taylor Swift and Tom Cruise had another little hangout, and this time there was a whole lot of football involved. The singer and the Hollywood star were seen catching up at the Kansas City Chiefs' season opener at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday. Swift was there to cheer for husband Travis Kelce, but clearly found some time for a fun chat with Cruise too.

Swift, 36, and Cruise were seen talking during the game, just weeks after they both attended Swift and Kelce's star-studded wedding. Cruise was among the guests at the couple's July ceremony and was reportedly one of the evening's highlights for several attendees.

Swift's appearance at Arrowhead was also significant for another reason. It was her first time at the stadium since she married Kelce in July. The game marked Kelce's return to the field as well, making it his first Chiefs appearance since their wedding.

Swift and Kelce went public with their relationship in September 2023 and married each other on July 3. Speaking about the wedding last week, Kelce called it “the best night of my life” and said marrying Swift was more than he could have dreamed of.

Taylor chose the Chiefs over the Emmys

Swift's appearance at Arrowhead also ended speculation about whether she would attend the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.

Her Disney+ special, Taylor Swift The Eras Tour | The Final Show, had picked up five nominations at the Creative Arts Emmys. The film, which captured the final concert of her record-breaking Eras Tour, was in the running for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special, and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Special.

However, the special went home empty-handed, losing in all five categories. The Muppet Show won Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded).

The nominations marked only the second time Swift had been recognised by the Television Academy. She previously won an Emmy in 2015 for AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience.
