The trailer for the highly anticipated docu-series, The Roshans, is now out, offering an in-depth look into the lives, challenges, and achievements of Bollywood's iconic Roshan family. The series, directed by Shashi Ranjan, will stream on Netflix starting January 17.

The over three-minute trailer features the Roshans’ industry peers, friends, and colleagues sharing insights about their contributions to the Hindi film industry. Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Sonu Nigam, Anu Kapoor, Salim Merchant, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, are among those who talk fondly about the family.

In the trailer, Hrithik teases the origin of his surname, saying, "It is a very interesting story how our surname went from Nagrath to Roshan." He also hints at his silence often being "misunderstood."

Preity Zinta, Hrithik's Koi Mil Gaya co-star and close friend, refuses to divulge secrets about his life but speaks warmly of him.

Rajesh Roshan credits his 'genes' for his success as a music composer. The trailer also explores the Roshans’ journey from immense success to facing challenging times.

The Roshans promises to highlight the journey of the late music maestro Roshan Lal Nagrath, his sons—filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and music composer Rajesh Roshan—and his grandson, celebrated actor Hrithik Roshan.

Speaking about directing the series, Shashi Ranjan said, “Directing this docu-series has been an incredibly rewarding journey. Being invited into the Roshan family’s world and entrusted with their legacy is a privilege I am grateful for. It is an honour to bring their story of creativity, courage, and commitment to the world, and having Netflix house the legendary movie family’s stories was undoubtedly the only way to go.”

The Roshans joins a growing list of documentaries centred on the Hindi film industry. Prime Video's The Angry Men chronicled the lives of legendary screenwriters Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan. Netflix's The Romantics paid a tribute to Yash Chopra's Yash Raj Films and its contributions to Bollywood.
