As Hanuman Ansh races towards the Rs 350-crore mark at the worldwide box office, the team behind the spiritual drama met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi on Monday. The conversation went beyond the film’s impressive theatrical run, with Shah discussing India’s cultural and spiritual heritage, traditions and values, and speaking with deep respect about Neem Karoli Baba.

For the Hanuman Ansh team, the meeting offered a chance to talk about how cinema can bring stories rooted in India’s heritage to a wider audience. Shah spoke about Indian culture and traditions and appreciated the team’s efforts to explore such subjects on screen.

He also encouraged the filmmakers to continue telling stories connected to India’s cultural and spiritual traditions. The discussion touched on the role cinema can play in keeping such stories alive and introducing them to audiences in a contemporary format.

The conversation also turned to another upcoming project. Writer-director Vishal Chaturvedi and producer Mahaveer Jain spoke to Shah about RamBola, their film based on the life of Goswami Tulsidas Ji. They shared details of the project, which will bring the life and work of the revered poet-saint to the screen.

Hanuman Ansh sees sharp jump in 7th week

Hanuman Ansh continues its impressive theatrical run in its seventh week, with the spiritual drama now closing in on the Rs 350-crore mark worldwide. According to trade website Sacnilk, the Vishal Chaturvedi directorial collected Rs 13.75 crore nett in India on Sunday, September 20, taking its Day 45 worldwide gross to Rs 347.05 crore.

The film also added Rs 1.50 crore from overseas markets on Day 45, taking its cumulative overseas gross to Rs 26 crore. With its India and international earnings combined, Hanuman Ansh is now just Rs 2.95 crore short of the Rs 350-crore milestone.

The film released in theatres on July 31.
