Amber Heard is the latest celebrity to share her opinion on Blake Lively's recent allegations against Justin Baldoni. In an interview to NBC News, she talked about how social media can promote lies as truth. A few days ago, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, where she accused him of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment and running a smear campaign to destroy her reputation.
Weighing in on the controversy, Amber Heard opened up about the damaging impact of social media. She said, "Social media is the absolute personification of the classic saying ‘A lie travels halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots on.’ I saw this firsthand and up close. It’s as horrifying as it is destructive.”
She indirectly spoke about her case involving Johnny Depp. The verdict was in favour of Depp. While he received a significant sum in damages, Heard received less payout for counterclaims.
Blake Lively's lawsuit became the talk of the town due to her explosive allegations. In her complaint, she claimed that Baldoni, along with the help of PR crisis manager, Melissa Nathan, came up with a social media mitigation plan to tarnish her image during the film's production.
Baldoni's lawyer responded to the claims and called it false. "These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media," he said.
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni starrerd in It Ends With Us. During the promotions, the two did interview separately.
