Actor Abhishek Bachchan's latest film, I Want To Talk, might have received good reviews, but that doesn't seem to be translating into numbers at the box office. The film hasn't even collected Rs 1 crore nett at the ticket window in two days. The Shoojit Sircar-directorial earned Rs 44 lakh on Saturday, taking the two-day total to Rs 69 lakh, reported the trade website Sacnilk.

The slice-of-life film has been appreciated for Abhishek's performance and for being a masterclass in storytelling by Sircar. However, despite all the appreciation, it has failed to attract the audiences to theatres. The reasons could be many, including the lack of a promotional campaign.

The trailer of the film was also received well by the audience. However, a larger section of the audience, especially in the heartland, isn't aware of the film yet. I Want to Talk represents thoughtful cinema, with themes of solitude, struggles, emotions and making hard choices in life. Many critics even called this the best performance of Bachchan's career. And yet the box office numbers look disappointing.

I Want to Talk has been released at a good time, when both Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again are on the verge of finishing their respective box office runs, and no other big Hindi film is releasing soon. Only if it was marketed well, could it have intrigued the audience.

The theatres will have to wait until December 5 for a mass presence in cinemas. That's when Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule is going to hit the screens.
