After Pushpa 2, will Ram Charan's Game Changer be able to strike the right chord amongst the audience?

GAME CHANGER BOX OFFICE PREDICTION

After the debacle of Indian 2, director Shankar is all set to bounce back with Game Changer, which has a story by promising filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. However, the buzz surrounding the film is moderate. Even though Game Changer marks his big major release after SS Rajamouli's RRR, it is yet to be seen if the film will make a huge mark at the box office.

A trade analyst, on the condition of anonymity, told India Today Digital, "Game Changer will open well in the Telugu states - Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Considering Charan's pull, especially after RRR, it will open with double digits. The pre-release event in Rajahmundry gave a push to the film and advance booking looks solid. In India, Game Changer recorded Rs 1.6 crore in the Telugu version."

Here's the trailer of Game Changer:

According to tracking website Sacnilk, Game Changer earned nearly Rs 1.86 crore in the pre-release business across the country. Including the blocked seats, the advance booking amounts to Rs 4.36 crore in India. This includes Telugu, Tamil and Hindi versions.

The source also added that Game Changer will open to Rs 5 crore in Hindi. "Shankar and Ram Charan are known faces, but their box office pull in the Hindi market will depend upon the film's content," the analyst added.

WHAT RAM CHARAN'S PAST 5 FILMS EARNED

Right from the start of his career, Ram Charan has always been calculative when it comes to his films. In his career spanning 17 years, he has acted as a hero in 14 films. He is a celebrated actor in the Telugu film industry, and it was SS Rajamouli's Magadheera and RRR that fetched him global recognition.

ACHARYA

Acharya was Charan's last film before Game Changer. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film brought together the father-son duo, Chiranjeevi and Charan for the first time. However, it received negative reviews. It was a failure at the box office and reportedly failed to recover the investment. According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 73.5 crore worldwide.

RRR

SS Rajamouli's RRR features two of the biggest stars of the Telugu industry, Jr NTR and Ram Charan. The film received an Oscar, among many other awards, and was a phenomenon across the globe. Produced on a massive budget of Rs 550 crore, RRR earned over Rs 1,300 crore worldwide and created many box office records.

VINAYA VIDHEYA RAMA

Directed by Boyapati Srinu, Vinaya Vidheya Rama was an action film featuring Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, Prashanth and Vivek Oberoi in lead roles. The film turned out to be a colossal failure at the box office. So much so that Ram Charan wrote an apology letter to his fans, taking responsibility for its underwhelming performance. The film earned approximately Rs 63 crore worldwide.

RANGASTHALAM

Director Sukumar's Rangathalam was yet another film that showcased the acting prowess of Ram Charan. The action drama saw Charan playing a hearing-impaired man in the rural-based entertainer. The film achieved commercial access and received critical acclaim as well. Rangasthalam also featured Samantha, Jagapathi Babu, Aadhi Pinisetty, Prakash Raj and Naresh in lead roles. Rangasthalam reportedly grossed Rs 216 crore in its lifetime.

DHRUVA

Ram Charan and Arvind Swami's Dhruva, directed by Surender Reddy, is the official Telugu remake of the Tamil film, Thani Oruvan. Charan played an IPS officer. Dhruva received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. Reportedly, Dhruva earned Rs 150 crore worldwide in its lifetime.
