After Jana Nayagan, Sudha Kongara and Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming film Parasakthi has been cleared of all Censor issues. Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted a U/A 16+ certificate ahead of its January 10 release.

The film’s certified runtime stands at two hours, 42 minutes and 43 seconds. Dawn Pictures, the film's official production house, celebrated the news with a special post, "A fire that speaks to all ages #Parasakthi censored with a U/A – striking theatres worldwide from tomorrow (sic)."

Here's the post:

Sudha Kongara Prasad’s Parasakthi revisits the anti-Hindi protests that rocked 1960s Madras, leaving a trail of unrest and casualties. Rooted in real incidents, the film also celebrates GV Prakash’s 100th outing as a composer.

On January 8, director Sudha Kongara reportedly presented Parasakthi before the CBFC’s Revising Committee in Mumbai after refusing to accept the suggested cuts. She has maintained that the proposed edits would dilute the film’s narrative and historical context.

Reportedly, the Censor board requested an additional 15 cuts beyond its initial suggestions, a directive Kongara has resisted, stating that the revisions would compromise the project’s aims.

Besides Sivakarthikeyan, the film also features Atharvaa, Sreeleela, Ravi Mohan in crucial roles, and Daali Dhananjaya, Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, Guru Somasundaram, Basil Joseph, Papri Ghosh and Rana Daggubati in supporting roles
