The 1993 romantic thriller Baazigar, featuring Shah Rukh Khan, has become a cult classic and remains popular even today. In an exciting update, it has been revealed that SRK is in talks for Baazigar 2.
Reportedly, producer Ratan Jain recently hinted at a sequel in the works.
In a recent interview with ETimes, producer Ratan Jain revealed that discussions with Shah Rukh Khan about a Baazigar sequel are underway. He mentioned that while the script is not yet finalised, he intends to proceed with the film only if SRK agrees to play the lead role.
Jain also shared that there is an intriguing concept for the sequel, but emphasized the need for a 'compelling' script and 'fresh' direction. He wants to ensure the film lives up to the high standards set by the original.
Ratan Jain said, “We keep talking to Shah Rukh about Baazigar 2, but not much has happened, but it will definitely be made.”
Released on November 12, 1993, Baazigar recently marked 31 years since its debut. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, forming one of Bollywood’s most iconic on-screen pairs. It also starred Shilpa Shetty, Siddharth Ray, Rakhee, Dalip Tahil, and Johny Lever in key roles. Directed by Abbas-Mustan, Baazigar was widely praised for its gripping story, stellar performances, memorable music, and intense suspense.
