Ram Charan heads to Coimbatore with family for wrist surgery after Peddi injury

Actor Ram Charan has reached Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore for his wrist surgery after injuring himself during the shoot of Peddi. The actor, along with his family, arrived in the city ahead of his big surgery.

Actor Ram Charan arrived in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore on Sunday to undergo wrist surgery after sustaining an injury while shooting for his recently released film Peddi. The actor was accompanied by his father Chiranjeevi, mother Surekha and wife Upasana Konidela. He was seen at Hyderabad's Begumpet Airport on Sunday before leaving for Coimbatore, where he is scheduled to undergo the procedure at Ganga Hospital on July 28.

According to reports, Ram Charan suffered a wrist cartilage tear while filming intense wrestling sequences for Peddi. Despite the injury, he postponed the surgery to complete the film's promotional commitments. With promotions now over, the actor is set to undergo the procedure under the care of a specialist in hand and wrist surgery.

Several videos circulating on social media showed Ram Charan arriving in Coimbatore with his family ahead of the surgery. His father, veteran actor Chiranjeevi, mother Surekha, wife Upasana Konidela and other family members are expected to remain by his side during the procedure.

Fans have since flooded social media with messages wishing the actor a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

Following the procedure, Ram Charan is expected to take a few weeks off before returning to work. He is likely to resume shooting only after receiving medical clearance. His next project, tentatively titled RC17, directed by Sukumar, is expected to go on floors once he has fully recovered. The filmmaker has reportedly completed the script and is currently busy with pre-production.

Interestingly, Ram Charan is the third member of the Mega family to undergo surgery this year. Chiranjeevi recently underwent shoulder surgery, while Pawan Kalyan had rotator cuff surgery in Mumbai and is currently recuperating.

Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi released in theatres on June 4 and stars Ram Charan alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor and Jagapathi Babu.
