Payal Kapadia's first reaction to All We Imagine As Light's Golden Globes snub

Director Payal Kapadia's critically-acclaimed film, All We Imagine As Light, was nominated in two categories at the recently concluded Golden Globes. However, the film lost out on awards. Payal Kapadia took it in her stride and reacted to it on her Instagram Stories.

Director Payal Kapadia's All We Imagine As Light failed to fetch any awards at the Golden Globes 2025 despite its two nominations. After the Golden Globes snub, Payal shared a picture with her producers on Instagram and reacted to the loss. She took it in her stride and mentioned that she had a lot of fun at the prestigious award ceremony that took place on January 6 in Beverly Hills, California.

After attending the award ceremony, Payal shared a photo with Thomas Hakim, Julien Graff, and Ranabir Das, the producers of All We Imagine As Light. She wrote, "We didn't win anything but had soo much fun (sic)."

On her Instagram stories, she thanked her designer Payal Khandwala and stylist Indrakshi Pattanaik for getting her ready for the Golden Globes award ceremony.

Payal Kapadia was seen in a handwoven black jumpsuit with a unique loop neck design. The black ensemble with shades of red on her neck was a standout.

While All We Imagine As Light won the coveted Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, it did not win any awards at the Golden Globes. The film lost out to France's Emilia Perez in the Best Non-English Language Motion Picture category. Payal Kapadia lost her Best Director Award to Brady Corbet, who helmed The Brutalist.

All We Imagine As Light is the story of two Malayali nurses, Prabha and Anu, who are leading a mundane life in Mumbai. The film features Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon.
